How To Write A Cozy Mystery II: Getting Ready For Querying

In the throes of writing a cozy mystery? Ready for edits? Or maybe you just need some polishing before querying.

I can help. As an Agatha nominee for Best First Book and bestselling author of the Enchanted Bay Mystery series, I can help you take your cozy mystery to the next level.

This advanced group is designed for previous students of my How To Write A Cozy Mystery Class who are ready for the next step. Even if you haven’t taken my class but are very close to being ready for querying this could be a good group for you.

Our classes are small, fun and super-supportive.

This is an online 4-week class in which you’ll leave with the first 150 pages of your manuscript fully edited (or the partial you have ready). An expertly crafted query letter and a list of agents you should pitch plus inside knowledge of the cozy mystery publishing scene: tips and tricks and trends to be aware of.

In this class you’ll receive:

  • An in-depth critique of the first 150 pages (150) current cozy mystery work-in-progress plus one to two rounds of revisions
  • Assistance in writing your query letter, one revision  + the best comps for your work
  • A customized literary agent pitch list

We will also read one cozy mystery and discuss elements of the book.

Guest Presenter

Special guest teacher, bestselling cozy mystery author, Katie Oliver (Jane Austen Tea Society Mysteries) will stop by to present on cozy mystery writing and answering student questions!

Let me know if you’d like to send in a sample for review via my contact form and I’ll provide an email for your partial.

If you are not ready for this class, you will be recommended to enroll in How To Write A Cozy Mystery I. The next session will begin in September and run for 10 weeks.
